New Year’s resolutions? Are they for someone else?
Money planning? Again, for someone else?
Or are they both for you in 2019? Like a money resolution...or moneylution perhaps?
So, what are you going to do? Some stuff you might be stuck with, such as the increase in pension contributions from April if you're auto-enrolled into your employer's workplace pension scheme. But what else could you achieve, or plan to achieve in the darkened days of January? Check out our free SaidSo guides on this website if you need some ideas.
Here are a few ideas, but you might have your own already, which is great.
- Pick an event/purchase/holiday/birthday you want to make great, budget how much it's going to cost and set a plan on how to save enough to achieve it!
- Pick one provider you use regularly, like your bank, your mobile, your energy provider and see if you can switch to a cheaper provider.
- Save an extra £10 a week and put in a savings account. Open a new one if you need to.
- Check your contract with your employer to see what protection they give you as part of your work.
- Make a Will.
Just a few thoughts but make your own 'moneylution' to create a revolution for your money planning.
Whatever you do, or don't do, have a fab 2019!
